some other things going on around here as we kicked off fall...
a fun trip to the renaissance festival, complete with a photo shoot of caroline and a real live duck.
our family has taken many a trip with extended family, but few trips with just our little crew. this fall, ben had the great idea of renting a cabin in the mountains and escaping with our three for a little family getaway all our own! we drove to the highlands area which was beautiful, though frigid that weekend! we really had a great time hiking (the kids surprised us with how well they did), gem mining, playing games and just hanging out. for sure this will be an annual tradition!
our humble abode...truth be told, the setting was a bit "deliverance-ish" in terms of how remote it was, but we really enjoyed the quiet.
